Warum ich fotografiere.

Ich fotografiere gern, weil ich Bilder mag, meine eigenen auch, mehr die von Anderen, mehr noch gemalte Bilder. Das ist ein Grund, warum ich so gern in Museen und Galerien gehe. Ein Grund, warum ich gern fotografiere: Je mehr ich fotografiere, umso mehr sehe ich, was ich vorher nicht sah. Zum Beispiel abstrakte Flächen in der Natur oder Spiegelbilder mit mehreren Ebenen an Häusern.

Und ich finde Vieles was ich sehe interessant, überraschend oder schön. Picasso hat mal gesagt: „Ich suche nicht, ich finde“. Ich bin wirklich kein Picasso, aber mir geht es so, ich finde Interessantes oder besser: Ich stolpere darüber.

Nicht so gern fotografiere ich fremde Menschen, ich finde es oft aufdringlich, die Kamera auf sie zu richten, mir selbst wäre es in vielen Situationen auch unangenehm fotografiert zu werden.

Ich komme aus der Dia-Fotographie, d.h. bearbeite meine Fotos in der Regel nicht, wenn nur minimal.

Warum stelle ich Fotos ins Internet?

Seit mehreren Jahren mache ich große Fotokalender für Freunde, manche konnten wenig damit anfangen, andere mochten sie. Die Anzahl der Kalender ist mir etwas über den Kopf gewachsen und so kam ich auf die Idee, stattdessen eine Webseite einzurichten.

Konzept.

Ich wollte nicht auf einer Internetplattform Hunderte Bilder ins Netz stellen. Deshalb habe ich mich entschieden, in Motivgruppen (Boxen) jeweils etwa 10 Fotos einzustellen und diese dann alle paar Monate zu wechseln. Zusätzlich möchte ich immer einen Gast einladen, eine Box mit seinen Bildern zu füllen, möglichst mit einem anderen Verständnis von Fotographie. Am Ende einer Gruppe findet man ggf. kurze Erläuterungen zu den Fotos.

Ich finde es schön andere Menschen kennen zu lernen, die ebenfalls Freude am Fotografieren und an Bildern haben. Per Email (misphoto@web.de) kann man mir Kommentare, Anregungen, Kritik oder Lobhudeleien schicken.

Why I take photos.

I like taking photos because I like pictures, my own too, more those of others, even more painted pictures. That’s one reason I love going to museums and galleries. One reason I love to take pictures is that the more I take pictures, the more I see what I didn’t see before. For example, abstract surfaces in nature or mirror images with several levels on houses.

And I find a lot of what I see interesting, surprising or beautiful. Picasso once said: „I don’t search, I find“. I’m really not a Picasso, but that’s how it is for me, I find interesting things or better: I stumble across them.

I don’t really like photographing strangers, I often find it intrusive to point the camera at them, and in many situations it would be uncomfortable for me to be photographed.

I come from slide photography, i.e. I don’t edit my photos, my pictures appear as they were taken.

Why am I posting photos on the internet?

For several years I have been making large photo calendars for friends, some didn't like them, others liked them. The number of calendars was a bit over my head and so I came up with the idea of setting up a website instead.

Concept.

I didn't want to put hundreds of pictures online on an internet platform. That's why I decided to put around 10 photos in each of 6 motif groups (boxes) and then change them after some months. In addition, I always want to invite a guest to fill in a box with their pictures, if possible with a different understanding of photography. At the end of some boxes you will find short explanations about the photos.
